The developing economy of India and South Asian subcontinent causing potential rise in electricity demand with phenomenal growth in Power Sector activities. Depletion of fossil fuel, environmental impact and growing cost of energy is forcing power sector functions to be more efficient and commercially driven. With the advent of modern technology and stringent financial norms, all the power companies are watchful on management of ATC losses and incorporating appropriate measures on efficiency improvement. Compliance to Regulatory norms, tariff mechanism, modern maintenance practices, IT application in all spheres of activities and mounting customer pressure has intrinsically changed the power sector operations. To cope up with the changed scenario, generation, transmission and distribution functions require a large fleet of skilled and technically updated human resources.

CESC Limited, the century old power utility working in generation and distribution of electricity has experienced the changes through ages and set up the Asia Institute of Power Management to train and develop power sector employees to face the challenges with updated technical knowledge and soft skill. Since 2009, Asia Institute of Power Management, the training and consultancy arm of CESC Limited is dedicated to the services for development human resources working in Power Sector.
